The central government declared that India tested a record 13 lakh swab samples in just the past 24 hours.
In yet another remarkable achievement in its fight against the raging coronavirus pandemic.
The Centre further said that 75 per cent of the new coronavirus cases in the country are concentrated in 10 states and Union Territories, as were 74 per cent of the new recoveries. "India climbs another historic peak of more than 13 lakh tests. More than 13.80 lakh tests done in the last 24 hours," the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Friday.
Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka are among these, reporting higher number of recoveries and new COVID-19 cases too," the Ministry said via a post on social media platform Twitter. 75 per cent of new cases in the country are concentrated in 10 States / UTs. 10 States / UTs also account for 74 per cent of new recoveries.
